1.Subtitling

 SUBTITLING FOR FILM FESTIVALS


By using an exclusive video projection system and proprietary software, Subtitula’m undertakes the whole process for electronic subtitling, whether it is for film festivals, film libraries or museums:

  • Subtitles are translated, edited and reviewed at the Subtitula’m studio by a team of translators specialised in Audiovisual Translation. We translate into Spanish, English, French, Italian, Portuguese, German, Catalan, Basque or Galician, but all language combinations are catered for.
  • Installation and fitting of all screening theatres that require electronic subtitling. Subtitles can appear within the image of the cinema screen itself or underneath it in an additional screen tailor-made for subtitles.
  • A live on-the-spot subtitling service is provided by Subtitula’m personnel who supervise the correct reading speed and synching of time codes that have been created beforehand.

Subtitling, translation and insertion on demand


Subtitula’m provides top-quality translation, editing and insertion of subtitles in any of the standard digital formats: DCP, DVD, Blu-Ray, Quicktime, etc. We cater for most languages into Spanish, English, French, Italian, Portuguese, German, Catalan, Basque, and Galician.
This ensures that copies may be screened with the subtitles already inserted in the image.
Subtitula’m provides also subtitle files in any required format (STL, SRT, XML for DCP, FAB, 890, Cavena, Cheetah…) valid for the most common professional video edition tools: Final Cut Pro, Avid, DVD Studio Pro…

OPERA AND THEATRE SURTITLING


Using the same system as for cinema theatres, Subtitula’m offers everything necessary for the translation and surtitling of live operas and plays. In this case, the subtitle screen is positioned above the stage and the performers.

SUBTITLING FOR THE DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING (SDH)


Subtitula’m offers its clients a range of SDH files that adhere to the Spanish subtitling standard UNE 153010 regarding the presentation of colour tags, number of characters, and time codes.

2. Comprehensive video management

Receipt, organisation, checking and coding for all film festival copies that will subsequently be digitally screened – those that require subtitles as well as those that do not.

4. DCP Creation

  • Subtitula’m has a proprietary server.

    FTP server fully available for our clients.

  • If it is an original DCP that requires subtitles:

    – The video is removed from the DCP
    – The subtitles are inserted, either generated by Subtitula’m or provided by the client.
    – A new DCP is created without affecting the quality at all.

  • Subtitulam can also create and encapsulate DCP from other video files:

    mov, mp4, etc whether subtitles are needed or not.

  • DCI compliant KDMs generated

5. Video Digitalisation

Top-quality transfer of films in various cinema formats (8mm, Super-8, 9’5 mm, 16mm, 35mm) to whatever digital platform the client wishes: DVD, BluRay, Quicktime (including Apple ProRes 422 HQ).
